Wow! What a fantastic month of live music we had in June!
From racecourses to rugby stadiums, we’ve seen some incredible performances from some of the biggest names in pop and dance music. Here’s a recap of the concerts in June…
Summer 2022 kicked off with a bang thanks to the legendary Nile Rodgers & CHIC. On a lovely warm Friday in June, the musical icon performed to a sold out crowd in the North West after a fun-filled evening of racing.
The set list included all of CHIC’s biggest hits – I Want Your Love, Everybody Dance and Le Freak – plus several songs that Nile Rodgers has produced over the years – Diana Ross’ I’m Coming Out, Sister Sledge’s We Are Family and Daft Punk’s Get Lucky… just to name a few!
The first of seven Newmarket Nights this summer was also the hottest day of the year! Music and racing fans enjoyed the food and drink on offer in each enclosure in the shade of The July Course trees. From Pimms and cocktails, to craft beers and iced coffee, there’s something for everyone at the many stalls available around the racecourse.
Following the final race, Paloma Faith took to the stage looking out to a see of fans and a gorgeous sunset. The crowd were treated to all of her biggest hits including Lullaby and Only Love Can Hurt Like This, as well as tracks from her two most recent albums.
The biggest event of the summer in Northampton! Pete Tong’s incredible take on Ibiza Classics descended on cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens. The evening began with a warm up set from up and coming DJ Meg Ward which got the crowd going ahead of the main event. Pete Tong was then joined by the incredibly talented conductor Jules Buckley and symphony orchestra for a set packed with nostalgia!
Rudimental put on an epic headline DJ set back in 2019 and their return to Newmarket Nights did not disappoint! Playing hit after hit, they really got the crowd going and we danced all night long.
